Landau Eugene Murphy Jr., the landslide winner of NBCs hit television show Americas Got Talent, will again heed the call to perform a benefit concert for his fellow West Virginians. This time, the benefactor is the Boone County Community Foundation. The benefit concert will be held Friday March 9th at the Madison Civic Center in Madison, West Virginia, near Landaus home in Logan, WV.
Previous concerts by Murphy in West Virginia have all been quick sellouts, and show organizers in Boone County expect the same for Murphys concert there, encouraging fans to secure their tickets quickly.
Landau tickets go on sale Saturday, Feb. 25th at 10am at Madison Volunteer Fire Department, 1 Firehouse Square State Street in downtown Madison and The Grapevine on State Street in downtown Madison. Murphy and his 16 piece Sweet Lippz Big Band has been performing to sell out audiences and standing ovations since Landau won the Americas Got Talent crown. The tour is in support of Landaus Columbia Records debut CD release Thats Life. The album, produced by Grammy winner Steve Tyrell, features Landaus unique and timeless take on classics from the Great American Songbook. It debuted at #1 on both the Billboard and Amazon Jazz charts.????
The former car washer and father of five from Logan West Virginia captured Americas heart with his music, his humble, gracious nature and his message to dream big and never give up. Over 14 million people each week watched and voted as Landau climbed to the top on Americas Got Talent on national television. Since his million dollar win, Murphy has headlined at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, been nominated for Outstanding New Artist at the NAACPs Image Awards, received The West Virginian of the Year award and has honored his country by performing the National Anthem for ESPN at Madison Square Garden and prior to nationally televised WVU football and Marshall University basketball games.
Known for his assistance to numerous charitable causes along his tour route, ranging from homeless shelters to childrens hospitals, Landau has designated a portion of this March 9th concert to benefit the Boone County Community Foundation.
